There are a number of interesting towns which sit
on the edge Mar Menor, but undoubtedly Los Alcázares is
one of the most popular. Named after the Moorish residences
(Al-Kazars) which were sited here, the town has long been popular
with both residents and holiday makers alike. It has beautiful
white sandy beaches which are cleaned daily and an 7km promenade,
ideal for cycling and walking. There are over 50 restaurants
in the town, from many different countries, lending a cosmopolitan
feel to any night out. In summer months the town’s
population increases considerably and the streets and promenades
are filled with families.
